This evening Kate and I shared a tub of Ben and Jerry’s new flavour “Coconutterly fair”, a chocolate ice cream with coconut caramel swirls and chocolate covered coconut caramel crunch. Really rather pleasant. Coconut is a delightful flavour and texture in ice cream, and I wonder why there isn’t more coconut ice cream on supermarket shelves.

It could have done with less chocolate in the mix, but I feel the same anti-chocolate fervour about other Ben and Jerry’s flavours. The crunchy bits were lovely, though.

At £2 for a 500ml tub in Morrison’s, well worth a go.

BBQ

The weather forecast suggests sunshine for Saturday. I think it could be time for the first BBQ of the season.

Might be time to get the ice-cream machine out of the cupboard too.

I bought strawberries to make ice cream, but I forgot to buy cream. That is limiting. So do I make a strawberry ice cream with a tin of condensed milk, or a strawberry frozen yoghurt?

Strawberries blended with cream, sugar and lemon juice, in the ice-cream maker at the moment. Mmm.
