I traveled back to St Andrews today having spent a week in Nottingham helping my parents to move house. I’m not used to “activity” holidays — I spent rather too much time this week packing, carrying, and unpacking.
They had been in the old house for the past twenty six years. I spent my teenage years living there and it was the home that I returned to for holidays while a student. But our time there is done, and my parents have built a new house nearby in Edwalton village. The new house is a similar size, but with fewer, larger, rooms, and is quite hi-tech with green technologies. It should cost less to run, and be easier for them to manage as they get older.
Plenty of storage too: the cellar is impressively large.
