My iPod touch helped me start reading again in 2009, so I can totally understand you using your iPhone like this. I was using Stanza and then the Kindle app, long before iBooks was available. Now I have my Kindle and am mainly reading on that, but I still use my iPod touch to read at times, and it still has a lot of books on it, especially DRM-free ones in Stanza, from Project Gutenberg, Feedbooks and O'Reilly.
