Gold Star

We’re currently working our way through a bottle of Gold Star brown sauce. It is excellent on chips (although we haven’t watered it down in the Edinburgh style). Tonight we had a cooked breakfast for dinner; the Gold Star worked quite well on the fried bread and veggie sausages. Compared to other brown sauces it is more stridently vinegary and has a pronounced spicy flavour, but isn’t particularly fruity. Recommended for a change; I would categorise it as a superior cheap brown sauce.
