“What what whatty-what?”

A few weeks ago Beth’s class each had to write an alien-invades-the-school story. In Beth’s story the headmaster, when confronted by the alien, exclaimed “What what whatty-what?”, which I’d like to think of as a general response to anything that could happen. I’m not sure where she picked up the phrase.

Beth assures me that her headmaster doesn’t really prowl the school corridors, saying “What what whatty-what?”, which I think is a pity.
