Ever since I've had my iPad I've had a rolling monthly contract with Vodafone. It costs £7.50 for 500MB of use. I rarely get close to that, unless away from home for an extended period, for example in a hotel which doesn't offer affordable or free wifi. And even though Broughty Ferry and Monifieth have notoriously bad mobile phone signals (on many networks) I still find it useful.
