Thatch

The BBC Parliament channel is showing all fifteen hours of the BBC’s 1979 election night coverage today. It started at 9am, should be another hour or so before the results start tumbling in. I wonder who will win?

1979 was David Dimbleby’s first election broadcast as anchor; doesn’t he look young? I wonder if he imagined that he would be anchoring elections for the rest of his working life.

I can’t watch it now because I’m working today, but I’ll record it and it should last me all week. Hmm. Not so sure that Kate will be enthused, though.
