Youngest ever

Does the phrase 'youngest ever' fill you with delight or dread? I'd like the Doctor to have a grand-fatherly, or at the least a fatherly, relationship with his companions. I'm not convinced that family television needs young characters to appeal to children.

I want to see an older Doctor, and wasn't over impressed with Matt Smith in the Ruby in the Smoke/Shadow in the North - but, having said that, he was interesting to watch in the brief interview clips and looks like he might have potential. I'm prepared to wait and see.

Wait and see, definitely. Peter Davidson wasn't much older, and was considered too young when he took it on, but did well.
