While wandering around Wheatcroft's garden centre yesterday, father reminisced that his father had enjoyed eating sherbet lemons, which were referred to as 'strengtheners'.

We bought a jar, and Beth has taken delight in regular strengthening.

We're out at Manor Farm today, an animal centre and donkey sanctuary near East Leake, between Nottingham and Loughborough. Lovely weather. Beth has had a ride on a donkey, and we're sitting by a lake for a while before heading home to start cooking dinner - Alex and Josie will be joining us this evening.
