Pasties and pies

Why all the worry about VAT being applied to hot pasties? Do journalists and media commentators live on a diet of pasties and sausage rolls? I’m much more worried about the impact on the price of macaroni pies.

I happened to be in town at lunchtime, so greatly enjoyed a Fisher & Donaldson macaroni pie, served hot, and eaten while Kate and I sat in the sun on one of the benches outside Macarthur’s on South Street. Mmm.

I hear that cabinet ministers are suggesting that we stockpile a few months supply, just in case.
