Twenty people for lunch
Having spent the weekend cooking and getting the Christmas tree decorated, we had our Christmas party lunch today. I greatly appreciated seeing our guests, and as always it was a joy to feed them. Andrew dealt with the meaty side of things, roasting three ribs of beef along the road at his house, and we prepared the accompaniments and the puddings. A good team effort.
Beth was joined by two of her school friends; this was the first time that she has had her own guest list for one of our parties. After lunch they had fun playing in the play park behind our house.
Unfortunately I was still feeling pretty lousy; I didn’t eat much, and didn’t get to spend as much time as I would have liked with our guests. Will do better next time.
Now we have a quiet run up to Christmas. Beth is in her school holidays, and we have a fridge full of leftovers to keep us going through the week.
