BBC 1 Scotland HD

Looks like the nearest thing we have to a national TV station launched in HD this week. Previously we’ve had a generic BBC 1 HD that didn’t include Reporting Scotland or any of the (many) differences from the English schedule.

I wonder if the news will be in HD — it would be good to have Catriona Shearer and Judith Ralston in 1080.

Now, when are STV going to launch in HD on Freesat?

Ooh thanks for the heads up. Just found it in our Sky EPG. More excuse for filling the HD recording box :)

Not an improvement!

I was actually much happier to have the English BBC HD - the only BBC content I watch is Holby City*, which on BBC 1 Scotland is replaced by some Glaswegian gibberish. Bizarrely, this seems to mean I'll either have to settle for watching the non-HD version (channel 952) or wait for it to air later! (Presumably the channel I was watching until now is still in there somewhere, if I can find where to look. Time for some Googling later perhaps.)

* Plus Dr Who sometimes, but I'm streaming that from Netflix at the moment anyway, having started again with the Hartnell episodes...
