Mmm. Aniseed balls.
While driving up the country on Saturday, we bought a small glass jar of aniseed balls at Scotch Corner services. Despite being in with the ‘posh’ sweets and presents, they were cheaper per 100g than the pick ’n’ mix.
Quite delightful. Hadn’t eaten one in years. That has now been corrected! (We also bought a similar jar of liquorice comfits, but they didn’t last beyond Saturday evening.)
