St Leonards Christmas Fair

Christmas starts today! Beth was excited to open day one of her advent calendar this morning, and then we headed in to her school for the Christmas fair. This year it was in the new junior school building; previous years have been in the senior school hall.

Lots to see and do, crowds of children and parents, and a lot of noise.

Beth had a massive bratwurst in a bun, which she greatly enjoyed. How did two vegetarians breed such an enthusiastic meat eater?

Having a ball

Kate and I are off to the St Leonards Parents Association Summer Ball this evening. It's being held at the Rufflets Hotel on the Strathkinness Road. In all my years in St Andrews, I've never been there.

Nearly time to get the kilt out.

Beth, my penguin

On Monday, Beth’s class dressed up as penguins and were visited by the granddaughter of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Obviously this made the headlines, so I direct your attention to the newspaper coverage of the event:

Beth started school today.

For the last couple of years she has been going to a nursery for two and a half hours every morning, but from today she will be out for a full day at St Leonards. She has to be there at 8.40am, and finishes at 4.10pm. She was very excited to get there this morning.

But what will Kate do with all her free time?
