The Xmarks bookmark synchronisation service announced in a blog post yesterday that their service is closing down. They have two million users, and their service seems to work well, and to be appreciated. Unfortunately they had no income. From their posting:
“For four years we have offered the synchronization service for no charge, predicated on the hypothesis that a business model would emerge to support the free service.”
Which seems totally crazy.
