Cold showers and false alarms
Off we went for our usual Sunday morning swim at the Fairmont St Andrews. The pool was fine, but changing afterwards was less pleasant, as there wasn’t any hot water. At their best the showers were on the chilly side of tepid. And then the alarms went off, and we were told to evacuate the building, which meant that I got dried and dressed somewhat faster than usual. Of course it was a false alarm; I didn’t even make it outside before we were told to ignore it.
Not quite as relaxing as our usual Sunday mornings, but lunch at Andrew’s made up for it.
A heavy shower early this morning cleared the air, and now it is bright outside, but somewhat cooler than yesterday. Kate is planning to help Andrew In his garden this afternoon, while I have paperwork to sort for this quarter’s VAT return.
