Kate gave me a new hat for my birthday. I’ve been wearing it with appreciation ever since.

My previous favourite hat was a panama hat that I bought in Annapolis in 2001, but it is beginning to fall apart at the front of the crown, so it was time for a replacement.

Nearly time to hand the boat back and head south to St Andrews.
