Quorn “bacon”

kateaw is out of the house on Thursday mornings, so echodarkly and I take the opportunity to have veggie bacon for breakfast. Kate is not fond of the smell of it cooking.

Haven't tried veggie bacon for years.

We used to get it in as part of the veggie alternatives for breakfast at weekend events for the Far-Isles.

But none fo the vegetarians would touch it (because it's too meat-like, apparently) so we carnivores used to polish it off - so long as it was freshly cooked (if it was left to get even slightly cold you ended up with a platter full of something resembling leather insoles).

You FIEND! Now I'm in the mood for a bacon roll!!

We're out of bacon and Greggs stops doing them at 11am, so I can't even be decadent and order one for delivery... {sad face}
